Christian L. Kanar, DDS

Christian Kanar, DDS, is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.  Native to Michigan, Dr. Kanar grew up in Ann Arbor in a family of five.  He attended Michigan State University, pursuing a degree in biological science, then went on to earn his doctorate in dentistry at the University of Michigan and completed a one-year general practice residency at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor. He finished a one-year internship at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, furthering his desire to pursue a career in oral surgery.

Moving back to Michigan, he accepted a residency at the St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren, Michigan, from 1995 to 1999.  While working there he was introduced to his wife, Michelle, a medical social worker at the hospital.  Wanting to be close to their parents, they opted to stay in Michigan. Dr. Kanar joined Kalamazoo Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in July 1999.

Dr. Kanar strives to make patients comfortable with their oral surgery needs.  He is committed to taking the time to thoroughly answer questions and go over all treatment options. When he is not working, you can find Dr. Kanar at the gym, attending his children’s sporting events, listening to or playing music, or tinkering in his garage.
