Eric T. Safranski, DMD

Eric Safranski, DMD is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He was born and raised in small-town central Illinois. He completed his undergraduate studies at Augustana College, a small liberal arts school in Rock Island, IL, where he played college basketball and graduated cum laude with Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He was motivated to continue a family tradition of dentistry and serve a small community. He chose to attend Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, IL, where he graduated cum laude and obtained his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree. His exposure to oral surgery during dental school furthered his desire to pursue it as a career. He accepted a residency at Loyola University Medical Center and Hines Veteran Administration Hospital in Chicago, IL. During his years in Chicago, he was trained in dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, anesthesia, facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, and benign pathology.
Dr. Safranski joined Kalamazoo Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in July of 2020. Ultimately, he chose Kalamazoo because it reminded him of home and the type of community that he wanted to serve.
“Growing up I experienced firsthand the great impact a physician can have on his community,” Dr. Safranski says. “I feel very fortunate to have that opportunity in my own professional career.”
Outside of the office he enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing, hiking, and camping as well as playing sports, reading, traveling, and spending time with his family. Dr. Safranski and his wife, Rachael, are excited to call Michigan home. They have three daughters, Harper, Hazel and Hattie.
